Glasgow Wildcats "Our Story!"

The Vision

To develop Glasgow Wildcats as the catalyst for improving Scotland’s World ranking and in particular the development of elite players that will compete in the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Netball is a priority sport for the City of Glasgow and also a core sport for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, which will be hosted in the City, and as such a significant cash investment has been put into the development of netball across the city and Scotland. The overall aim for the team is that Glasgow Wildcats will not only improve the quality of netball play and players across Scotland and the UK, but also will significantly enhance media, spectator and financial support to the game in Glasgow and Scotland. Other key priorities include the creation of a sustainable infrastructure, through the development of clubs, coaches, umpires and professional support services in Glasgow for the sport.

Increased investment will be made to complement existing dedicated netball staff resources, ensuring a joined up partnership approach across Scotland with all of those agencies innolved in the business of netball.

Glasgow Wildcats will also be a key vehicle for Netball Scotland to achieve its performance targets and an increased investment has been assigned by the governing body to support the employment of a full time National Coach who will be seconded to deliver Glasgow Wildcats coaching and player performance programme.
